This Samsung module is a 32 GB DDR4-2666 registered ECC DIMM (PC4-21300) in a dual-rank x4 organisation, built on 8 Gb DRAM with CL19 timings at 1.2 V in the standard 288-pin form factor. The common part-number families are M393A4K40CB2-CTD and M393A4K40BB2-CTD, and the same module also appears under Dell, HPE, Lenovo and Cisco part numbers. It was the standard DIMM of the Skylake and Cascade Lake era: twelve of them give a two-socket server 384 GB with one module per channel. The module runs at 2666 MT/s with first-generation Xeon Scalable processors, at 2400 MT/s in Broadwell systems, and at 2666 MT/s in Cascade Lake servers that would otherwise support 2933.

Because so many servers shipped with it, this is the module most often requested by hosting providers expanding existing nodes, integrators building Gen10 and 14G servers from refurbished chassis, universities and laboratories, and resellers in the CIS, Africa and South Asia. Every module receives a full-pass memory test covering every address with several patterns, plus an SPD read to confirm the part number and speed grade, and lots are sorted so that each one contains a single manufacturer and part number. When adding to a populated server, match the module type and ideally the rank and organisation of the installed DIMMs. Modules are sold per lot and carry a partner limited warranty of typically 90 days to 12 months stated in the quotation.
