The Intel Xeon Platinum 8480+ is a 56-core, 112-thread Sapphire Rapids processor for the LGA 4677 socket, with a 2.0 GHz base clock, turbo up to 3.8 GHz, 105 MB of L3 cache and a 350 W TDP. It supports eight channels of DDR5-4800 up to 4 TB per socket, 80 lanes of PCIe 5.0 with CXL 1.1, and Intel AMX matrix extensions for AI inference. The plus suffix indicates that the built-in accelerator engines (DSA, IAA, QAT and DLB) are enabled. The 8480+ served as the host processor in a large share of HGX H100 systems and 2023 cloud deployments, and those systems are the source of the pulled units now on the secondary market.

Buyers are AI hosting providers and integrators who assemble H100 or L40S nodes on Supermicro X13, Gigabyte and ASUS boards and need the host CPUs, as well as universities, HPC laboratories and resellers in the CIS, Africa and South Asia. Before ordering, buyers should confirm that the board supports 350 W parts and that DDR5 RDIMMs, not DDR4, are on hand. Sapphire Rapids shipped in several steppings and some boards need a BIOS update for later ones, so lots can be filtered by stepping and S-spec. Processors are tested in a reference LGA 4677 platform, sold per lot, and carry a partner limited warranty of typically 90 days to 12 months stated in the quotation.

Second-hand processors are sold under the contract, invoice and partner warranty of InTechnologies' licensed partners. InTechnologies coordinates sourcing from decommissioning programmes and verified brokers, consolidates the lot in Dubai Airport Freezone and arranges DDP or DDU delivery.
