Intel Xeon Gold 6338 Processor (Pulled)

The Intel Xeon Gold 6338 is a 32-core, 64-thread processor from the third-generation Xeon Scalable family, codenamed Ice Lake-SP and built on Intel's 10 nm process for the LGA 4189 socket. It runs at 2.0 GHz base with turbo up to 3.2 GHz, has 48 MB of L3 cache and a 205 W TDP. Ice Lake brought eight memory channels of DDR4-3200 with up to 6 TB per socket and 64 lanes of PCIe 4.0, so a two-socket 6338 server has roughly 45 percent more memory bandwidth and far more I/O than a comparable Cascade Lake system. Compatible platforms include Dell PowerEdge R650 and R750, HPE ProLiant DL360 and DL380 Gen10 Plus, Lenovo ThinkSystem SR630 V2 and SR650 V2 and Supermicro X12 boards.

Pulled 6338s began appearing in volume as the cloud and enterprise systems deployed in 2021 and 2022 come off lease. They are popular with hosting providers who want a 64-core two-socket node at a moderate power budget, with integrators building NVMe-heavy storage servers that need the PCIe 4.0 lanes, and with universities, laboratories and resellers in the CIS, Africa and South Asia. Each processor is tested in a reference LGA 4189 platform. Lots can be filtered by stepping and S-spec, are sold per lot, and carry a partner limited warranty of typically 90 days to 12 months stated in the quotation.
