Intel Xeon Platinum 8375C Processor (Pulled)

The Intel Xeon Platinum 8375C is an Ice Lake-SP processor that Intel built for Amazon Web Services, where it powers the C6i, M6i and R6i instance families; it has never been listed in Intel's public catalogue. It has 32 cores and 64 threads, a 2.9 GHz base clock, turbo up to 3.5 GHz, 54 MB of L3 cache and a 300 W TDP on the LGA 4189 socket, with eight channels of DDR4-3200 and 64 lanes of PCIe 4.0. The base clock is higher than that of any retail 32-core Ice Lake SKU, which is why the 8375C became one of the most traded pulled processors once AWS began retiring its first Ice Lake fleet.

Compatibility is the main point to check. The 8375C appears in no OEM support list; it boots only on boards whose BIOS carries microcode for it, and its 300 W TDP exceeds the limit of many single-socket boards. On the secondary market it is most often paired with Supermicro X12 dual-socket boards and with LGA 4189 boards from Chinese manufacturers, while Dell and HPE servers should not be assumed to accept it. Buyers are hosting providers building whitebox nodes, integrators, laboratories and resellers in the CIS, Africa and South Asia. Each processor is tested in a reference platform, lots can be filtered by stepping, processors are sold per lot, and the partner limited warranty of typically 90 days to 12 months is stated in the quotation.
