The iPad (A16) is the entry model in the iPad range. It has an 11″ Liquid Retina IPS display at 2360 × 1640 and 500 nits, the A16 chip with a 5-core CPU and 4-core GPU, Touch ID in the top button and a USB-C port. The rear and front cameras are both 12 MP, with the front camera on the landscape edge for video calls. A 28.93 Wh battery is rated for up to 10 hours of web or video, and the Wi-Fi model weighs 477 g. Wi-Fi 6 is standard and Cellular versions add 5G.

This is the iPad bought in the largest numbers: schools, training centres, retail chains, hospitality and logistics companies that need many identical devices. Storage is 128 GB, 256 GB or 512 GB, and colours are Silver, Blue, Pink and Yellow; corporate buyers usually standardise on Silver or Blue. It works with Apple Pencil (USB-C).
