Solidigm D5-P5336 30.72TB U.2 QLC NVMe SSD

The Solidigm D5-P5336 is a high-capacity PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD built on Solidigm 3D QLC NAND, and the 30.72 TB U.2 15 mm model (SBFPF2BV307T001) is rated at 7,000 MB/s sequential read, 3,000 MB/s sequential write, 1,005K random read IOPS (4K) and 39.2K random write IOPS (16K). Endurance is specified at 0.56 DWPD over a five-year warranty, and the drive uses a 16 KB indirection unit, which is why Solidigm quotes write performance at 16 KB. Opal-encrypted versions are available under separate order codes.

This drive exists to replace hard-disk tiers: a single 2.5-inch bay holds 30.72 TB at NVMe read speeds, so a 24-bay 2U server reaches 737 TB raw. Content delivery networks, object storage operators, backup targets and AI data lakes buy D5-P5336 in volume where reads dominate and writes arrive in large sequential blocks. The QLC design has to be planned for: random small-block writes should be avoided or absorbed by a TLC cache tier, and host software should align writes to the 16 KB indirection unit where possible.
