The Samsung M393A8G40AB2-CWE is a 64 GB DDR4-3200 ECC registered DIMM in a dual-rank x4 layout, built on 16 Gb DDR4 DRAM and rated CL22 at 1.2 V. It is the highest-capacity DDR4 RDIMM that stays dual rank, which means it reaches 3200 MT/s at two DIMMs per channel on most platforms where quad-rank or load-reduced modules would be throttled.
The installed base of DDR4 servers remains large: 2nd and 3rd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable, AMD EPYC 7002 and 7003, and the matching Dell PowerEdge R740/R750, HPE ProLiant Gen10/Gen10 Plus and Lenovo SR650 generations. Operators extending the life of those fleets, refurbishers reconfiguring off-lease servers and hosting providers densifying existing nodes buy 64 GB DDR4-3200 modules in volume. Two points to check before ordering: 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable platforms run DDR4 at 2933 MT/s, so the module will clock down there, and Samsung has shipped this capacity under several part numbers (AB2 on 16 Gb dies, older 4Rx4 variants on 8 Gb dies) that should not be mixed in a channel.

Questions buyers ask
Will it run at 3200 MT/s on a 2nd Gen Xeon Scalable server?
No. Those platforms support DDR4-2933 at most, and the module runs at that speed. 3rd Gen Xeon Scalable and EPYC 7002/7003 run it at 3200 MT/s.
Can we mix it with existing 64 GB LRDIMMs?
No. RDIMMs and LRDIMMs cannot be combined in the same system. Replace the whole population or add RDIMMs to an RDIMM-only server.
Is new DDR4 stock still available?
Yes. Samsung continues to supply DDR4 server modules, though allocation is tightening as production shifts to DDR5. We confirm availability and date codes with each quotation.
