Dyson Supersonic r Hair Dryer

The Supersonic r is the Dyson dryer with the bent, r-shaped body: the airflow head sits at a right angle to the handle, which makes it easier to reach the back of the head and to work at close range. A Dyson Hyperdymium motor spinning at up to 110,000 rpm pushes air through a Streamlined flow heater with ten heater foils set in the curve of the body. The UK specification lists 1,700 W, 12.4 litres of air per second, four heat settings including a cold shot, a 2.7 m cable and a body weight of 325 g. Its five Intelligent attachments carry RFID chips, so the dryer recalls the last setting used with each one, and an ioniser reduces static and flyaways.

Salon suppliers, beauty and department-store chains, marketplace sellers and hotel groups buy the Supersonic r next to the Supersonic Nural and the Airwrap range. It is a mains appliance, so the plug version has to match the market: the distributor lines we work with include Australian and Singapore versions, and UK, EU and other versions can be sourced on request. Dyson sells it in Straight+Wavy and Curly+Coily editions, which differ in the attachment set, and in colourways such as Ceramic Pink/Rose Gold, Jasper Plum and Amber Silk.
