HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen11 Rack Server

The HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen11 is the AMD counterpart to the DL380, a 2U two-socket server for 4th and 5th Generation AMD EPYC 9004 and 9005 processors with up to 160 cores per socket. Twelve DDR5 channels per processor give 24 DIMM slots and up to 6 TB of memory at speeds up to 6400 MT/s on 9005-series parts, and the chassis can be ordered with up to 24 SFF or 36 EDSFF E3.S NVMe drives, or 12 LFF drives for capacity storage. Up to eight PCIe Gen5 slots, two OCP 3.0 slots and support for eight single-wide or four double-wide GPUs make it one of the most flexible 2U servers in the HPE range.

The DL385 Gen11 is chosen for core-dense virtualisation, software-defined storage, containers and GPU-accelerated inference where per-socket core count and memory bandwidth matter more than Intel-specific features. Typical buyers are cloud and hosting providers, telecoms, research computing groups and enterprises migrating to EPYC for licensing efficiency; iLO 6 and HPE Compute Ops Management are standard.
