AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Desktop Processor (8 cores, 3D V-Cache)

The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D is an 8-core, 16-thread Zen 5 processor and the first to use AMD's second-generation 3D V-Cache layout, with the 64 MB cache die placed under the compute die. The change allows a 4.7 GHz base and 5.2 GHz boost, higher than the previous 7800X3D, and makes the chip fully unlocked for overclocking. Total L3 is 96 MB with 8 MB of L2, the TDP is 120 W and the maximum junction temperature is 95 °C. It runs on AM5 motherboards with dual-channel DDR5 and PCIe 5.0 and includes basic Radeon integrated graphics for troubleshooting without a discrete card.

Since its launch in November 2024 the 9800X3D has been the highest-demand gaming CPU in the channel, and it is the processor most often requested by PC retailers, marketplace sellers and gaming-PC integrators in the Gulf, Central Asia and Africa. AMD ships it boxed without a cooler, and it is frequently bundled with B850 or X870 motherboards and 32 GB DDR5-6000 kits. Allocation has at times been tight, so buyers planning promotions should lock in quantities early. A Ryzen 7 9850X3D was later added above it in the range.
