The Instax Mini Evo is a hybrid: a digital camera with a 1/5-inch CMOS sensor that stores images internally or on microSD, combined with an Instax Mini printer so only the shots worth keeping are exposed onto film. Ten lens effects and ten film effects can be combined into 100 looks, chosen with physical dials and a film-advance lever that mimics a classic camera. The 3.0-inch LCD is used for composing and reviewing, the integrated battery is rated for around 100 prints per charge, and the Bluetooth link lets smartphone photos be sent to the camera for printing through the Instax Mini Evo app. Prints take about 16 seconds.

Because it prints selectively, the Mini Evo appeals to a more premium buyer than the Mini 12, and it is listed by marketplace sellers, electronics chains, travel retail and corporate-gift companies that want a device with a retro finish. It is sold in black and brown; current production uses a USB-C charging port, while early units had micro-USB, so buyers who care about the connector should specify the revision. Film is the only consumable, and the camera is also a practical printer for hotel concierge desks and event photographers because guests can print from their own phones.
