The EOS R5 Mark II keeps the 45 MP resolution of the original R5 but moves to a back-illuminated stacked full-frame CMOS sensor, read out by a DIGIC Accelerator working with the DIGIC X processor. The faster readout lifts electronic-shutter bursts to 30 fps (12 fps mechanical), adds pre-continuous shooting that keeps up to 15 frames from before the full shutter press, and reduces rolling-shutter distortion. Video goes up to 8K 60p RAW and 4K 120p internally, with Canon Log 2 and Canon Log 3. Autofocus gains Eye Control AF, a first for the 5 series, plus Action Priority AF for sports and focusing down to EV -6.5. In-body stabilisation reaches up to 8.5 stops in the centre of the frame with lens IS. The camera uses the LP-E6P battery and has a 5.76-million-dot OLED viewfinder and a 3.2-inch touchscreen.
