Canon EOS R5 C Cinema EOS Camera

The EOS R5 C brings the 45 MP full-frame sensor of the EOS R5 into Canon's Cinema EOS line and adds an internal cooling fan, so it can record 8K Cinema RAW Light internally to CFexpress Type B at up to 30 fps on battery and up to 60 fps with external power. It also records 4K up to 120p in 4:2:2 10-bit, XF-AVC in MXF and HEVC or H.264 MP4, with Canon Log 3, HLG and PQ. A power dial switches to a stills mode that keeps the R5 feature set, with 45 MP files at up to 20 fps electronic or 12 fps mechanical. The body has an RF mount, a timecode terminal, 13 assignable buttons, a tally lamp, a vari-angle touchscreen, a 0.5-inch OLED EVF, CFexpress Type B and SD slots, and weighs about 680 g.

Production companies, rental houses, broadcasters and wedding and corporate videographers use the R5 C as a B-camera next to larger Cinema EOS bodies or as a compact main camera on gimbals. When ordering, budget for CFexpress Type B cards fast enough for 8K RAW, LP-E6NH batteries (one is in the box) and, for 8K 60p, an external power option such as the DR-E6C coupler with CA-946 adapter or the PD-E1 USB adapter.
