HPE Juniper Networking: what changed for EX, QFX, MX and SRX buyers

Five months after closing the Juniper deal, HPE launched a combined portfolio. A year on, the brand, the partner programme and the flagship customers have changed; the product lines have not been cut.

HPE completed its acquisition of Juniper Networks, valued at about $14 billion, on 2 July 2025. On 3 December 2025, at HPE Discover Barcelona, it set out the first combined portfolio. The headline products were the QFX5250, a 102.4 Tbps data-centre switch built on Broadcom Tomahawk 6 and described as Ultra Ethernet Transport-ready, and the MX301, a compact 1RU edge router delivering 1.6 Tbps with 400G interfaces for metro, mobile backhaul, inference and enterprise routing. Both carry Juniper product names and run Junos.

The management layer is where the two companies began to merge. HPE said Mist's video experience assurance would come to Aruba Central, Aruba's anomaly-reasoning engine would run on Mist, and new Wi-Fi 7 access points would work natively with either system. The first such product, the HPE Networking 723H access point, followed on 8 May 2026. The portfolio now ships under the HPE Juniper Networking name, and Juniper documentation, community sites and certifications already use it.

Partners, customers and numbers

On 15 June 2026 HPE announced that the HPE and Juniper partner programmes would be merged into HPE Partner Ready Vantage with effect from 1 November 2026, with one set of membership tiers, competencies and compensation, a single portal and deal-registration system, and existing partner certifications protected during the transition. For buyers this means the reseller landscape is being reorganised over the coming months.

The commercial momentum shows in HPE's own figures. For the nine months to 31 July 2026, networking product revenue grew 117 per cent year on year and networking rose from 15 to 26 per cent of segment revenue, according to Futuriom's reading of the results; the chief executive said order backlog was at its highest ever. In early September 2026 HPE and Oracle announced a multi-year expansion under which Oracle may deploy PTX and MX routers and QFX and EX switches across its data centres worldwide, with the newer QFX models aimed at RoCEv2 AI back-end networks. Oracle said HPE Juniper equipment already supports parts of OCI's edge network and regional fabric.

What it means for buyers

Nothing in HPE's announcements so far withdraws the EX, QFX, MX or SRX lines; the opposite is true, with new models added across routing and switching. The practical changes are administrative: Juniper products are now listed and documented under HPE branding, Mist and Aruba Central are converging, and channel tiers will be reset after 1 November 2026. When buying Juniper equipment now, confirm which entity issues the support contract, how Mist or Apstra subscriptions are licensed, and whether the reseller's authorisation continues under the merged programme. Demand from hyperscale customers such as Oracle also competes with enterprise orders for the same QFX and PTX production, so ask for lead times at quotation stage. InTechnologies supplies EX, QFX, MX and SRX hardware with the relevant licences.
