Dyson HushJet Mini Cool review: AED 249 wearable fan for hot markets

Dyson launched the HushJet Mini Cool on 9 April 2026, its first portable fan, priced at AED 249 in the UAE, SAR 249 in Saudi Arabia, $99.99 in the United States and £99.99 in the UK. Dubai’s tbreak described it as positioned for hot-weather markets like the UAE, and it is sold through Dyson’s own site and stores as well as major electronics retailers and online platforms.

The hardware is a 38mm-diameter tube with a Dyson digital motor spinning at 65,000rpm, weighing 7.5oz (about 212g) with a 5,000mAh battery. There are five speeds plus a Boost mode; airflow reaches about 55mph in Boost, noise runs from 52 to 68dBA across the five speeds and 72.5dBA in Boost, and the nozzle rotates 360 degrees and tilts to 45 and 90 degrees. Runtime is up to six hours on the lowest speed; Dyson does not publish figures for higher speeds. Charging is by USB-C and takes about three hours. In the box are a lanyard, a travel pouch, a Neck Dock for wearing the fan and a charging stand that doubles as a desk dock. A stroller mount and a grip clip were promised for summer 2026.

Reception and the Gulf context

Early US coverage reported that initial stock sold quickly. Australia’s consumer group Choice, where the fan lists at A$169, concluded it is not worth the price. The product’s logic is clearest in the Gulf: it arrived weeks after Dyson’s Podium event at Dubai Mall (24 February to 8 March 2026), where the brand showed the Spot+Scrub AI stain cleaner, the HushJet air purifier and its Airwrap and Supersonic hair tools. Dyson operates permanent demo stores at Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Mirdif and Dubai Hills Mall, plus Yas Mall and The Galleria in Abu Dhabi, alongside dyson.ae. Its next regional launch, on 2 September 2026, was the CameraJet AI toothbrush as part of a Dental System at AED 1,949 and SAR 1,949, Dyson’s first oral-care product.

Colour availability was staggered: Stone/Blush at launch, Carnelian/Sky from May and Ink/Cobalt from June 2026.

What it means for buyers

At AED 249 the HushJet Mini Cool is an impulse-priced Dyson, which is unusual for the brand and makes it a candidate for marketplace listings and gift ranges rather than appliance aisles. The seasonal window in the Gulf and Central Asia is long, roughly April to October, so a first order in early spring with a replenishment in June covers most of the demand. Specify the plug on the charging stand and the colour mix, and ask the distributor whether the Neck Dock and stroller mount ship in the regional kit. Check which region’s Dyson warranty applies to the stock; units bought outside the GCC may not be serviced locally, so confirm this before importing. For the premium end, the Dental System is a slow-moving, high-ticket line best ordered against demand.
